We're proud to announce that the students below will be representing WJHS at the prestigious Governor's School for the Arts Class of 2024! This is a tremendous honor, and we couldn't be more thrilled for their incredible achievement. Huge congratulations to these talented artists!
WJHS will be having our annual Decision Day for our current seniors on May 14th. We want to celebrate our seniors and their plans for after high school, whether that be trade or technical school, military, college, or going into the workforce. In the past, we have had many generous parents and community members that have made donations of gifts such as dorm decorations, gift cards, electronics, or anything else you might think would be helpful to a young adult starting out in life. If you could complete this survey and let us know if you would be willing to contribute anything, we would greatly appreciate it! Last year, we had over $1,000 worth of donations from parents alone, and this helped make the drawings for prizes extra special! We will gladly give your business a shoutout as well if you would like. Please bring any donations to the front office or the guidance office at WJHS before May 10th!

WJHS student Aidan Mitchell attended the Youth Ambassador Leadership Conference for a second time this year, hosted by the office of Andy Barr. The program is "a non-partisan, educational experience designed for high school sophomores, juniors, and seniors who attend schools or reside within Kentucky’s Sixth Congressional District. This conference provides a unique opportunity for students to hear directly from Kentucky leaders, while also serving as an ambassador to their school."
We look forward to hearing what leaders from around the Commonwealth had to say!

Congrats to the Lady Colts for their first ever region win over #2 Pulaski, tonight. And to Claire Marshall, Katie Mastin, and Coach Hilkens for their All-Region team and Region 12 Coach of the Year recognitions. The Colts look to keep winning on Friday night!

Happy Monday! The 46th District Tournament takes place this week for boys and girls basketball. We have the KHSAA State Meet for Indoor Track & Field as well as softball on Saturday. Get out and support this week and good luck to all Colt student athletes!
Eastern Kentucky University President David McFaddin and staff visited WJHS today to speak with some of our Juniors and Seniors. Students learned about campus life, housing, financial aid, student resources, programs, and even received some EKU Swag! One lucky student in attendance will receive a $1,000 scholarship to EKU!
