Students met with the Youth Career & Talent Specialist, Mrs. Morris, today from the Kentucky Career Center. The "Putting Young Kentuckians to Work" initiative, part of the KCC, aims to equip individuals aged 16-24 with skills and opportunities for high-demand jobs, focusing on work readiness, sector training, pathways to employment, and employment support. It is so rewarding to see our student commit to their next steps! #coltpride #nextsteps

This dreary weather isn't putting a damper on our day! Mrs. Foster's Biology I students are having a 🍓berry🍓 good time extracting DNA! It's a little messy, but totally worth it to see those DNA strands! 🧬

These blue and silver symbols represent our commitment to educating communities about child abuse and neglect prevention. Let's work together to ensure all children have the positive childhoods they deserve.

April is Child Abuse Awareness Month, a time dedicated to raising awareness and preventing child abuse and neglect. It's a moment to amplify the voices of those affected, educate our communities, and commit to creating safer environments for all children.
This year, on Friday, April 4th, we are wearing 💙BLUE💙 to show our support for child abuse prevention. Blue symbolizes the innocence and fragility of childhood, and wearing it is a visible commitment to standing against abuse. Join us!

Never a dull day at West High! We started with an 8:30 burst pipe, that lead to some serious flooding in the back lobby.
Fortunately, when crisis occurs, everyone jumps in! Thank you to our custodial and district maintenance crews who took care of the standing water by 9:30!
The valve has been shut off and doesn't impact the main building water supply. Back to business!
Let's have a smooth last week before a much needed break!

Monday's surface area is too vast. We need coffee. ☕
Check out Ms. Radcliffe's Geometry class measuring and calculating various surface areas at school!
