The vision of Jessamine County Schools Gifted and Talented Program is to provide authentic opportunities to meet individual needs of high-achieving students to challenge them to reach their full potential and guide them to become life learners through experiences apart from, but aligned to the the regular classroom.
Meet our Staff
Melissa Beers
JCS GT Coordinator and Resource Teacher Serving: Nicholasville Elementary and Rosenwald Dunbar Elementary
Mrs. Beers has been teaching in Jessamine County since 1998. She taught 1st and 4th grades before becoming a Gifted and Talented Resource teacher. She has been working in the Gifted and Talented Program since 2002. She has also held other roles such as Literacy Coach, Academic Team Coach, and STLP coordinator.
Hannah Heseman
Serving: Red Oak Elementary, Warner Elementary, and the Jessamine Early Learning Village
Ms. Heseman started her teaching career in 2017. She has taught 4th grade for the past four years. This spring, she completed her Master's in Gifted Education from Eastern Kentucky University.
Rhiannon Minke
Serving: Brookside Elementary, Wilmore Elementary, and the Jessamine Early Learning Village
Mrs. Minke has been a teacher in Jessamine County since 2001. She has taught grades 2-5 with most of her experience being in 4th and 5th grades.
Lindsay Cornelius
Serving: East Jessamine Middle School and West Jessamine Middle School
Mrs. Cornelius has been teaching in Jessamine County since 2004. She taught 4th and 5th grades before becoming a Gifted and Talented Resource teacher. This will be her third year teaching Gifted and Talented. She has a Master's Degree and Gifted Certification from Georgetown College.
